Abagail Grey

Representing: UK Bookings / UK Press (November-December 2011 campaign)

Abagail Grey is the shape-shifting creative guise of Scottish singer-songwriter Claire Campbell. After 2009’s debut Long Case Clock Suspension - “one of the best folk albums to come out of Scotland this year” (Daily Record) - Abagail Grey recently followed up with Apple Cherub Dove, likewise produced by Glasgow indie luminaries Chris Geddes (Belle & Sebastian) and Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Teenage Fanclub, Snow Patrol).

Having secured a licensing deal with Minneapolis label MPLS Ltd, Campbell launched Apple Cherub Dove at top indie showcase MUSEXPO in Los Angeles, where she was also signed up by bi-coastal music marketeers The Planetary Group, for an extensive US college radio campaign.

Abagail Grey’s live highlights include triumphant appearances at ATP’s Bowlie 2 and Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival; Campbell has also appeared on albums such as Belle & Sebastian’s The Boy With The Arab Strap and the acclaimed Ballad of the Broken Seas by Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan.

Abagail Grey are currently in the studio with Chris Geddes and Tony Doogan working on the follow up to Apple Cherub Dove, with a release date scheduled early next year.

“Elegant, simple and emotive songwriting . . . stunning” (Sunday Mail)

“Serene, elegant and beautifully crafted... daringly simple” (The Scotsman)
