Blue Sky Archives are pioneering a genre called post-rock pop. Formed in Glasgow in 2010, the five-piece have quickly emerged as one of the most interesting new prospects on the Scottish music scene.
Having released their self-titled debut EP in June 2010, recorded in their home studio with Pete Flett (Dead or American/ Holy Mountain), their 2011 follow up, Plural, marked an explicit artistic development and generated a strong response across a host of respected media.
With no shortage of praise for their live outings, to date the band have shared billing with the likes of Twin Atlantic, The Primitives, Lou Hickey, We Were Promised Jetpacks and Tommy Reilly.
Blue Sky Archives recently completed the recording of their new EP at Chem 19, produced by Iain Cook and engineered by Jamie Savage, with a release date scheduled for early 2012.
“Melodic post-rock and harmonious pop, like a shining light” (The List)
“They prove a revelation, combining brooding textures with a pop sensibility that sets them apart from their Glasgow peers” (Clash Magazine)
“This is a band that demands attention from anyone who cares about where the Scottish music scene is going.” (The Ark Magazine)
