It's been a busy old couple of month's for Edinburgh based band Homework. Since releasing their debut mini-album 'All That Glitters' in late November, they've been selected to showcase at international showcase festival Glimps in Belgium, picked up a host of airplay from BBC Radio One, BBC Radio Scotland and BBC 6Music, and today were named by Vic Galloway as one of his top 35 bands to watch in 2012. 

Vic Galloway's Ones to watch list has previously championed some of the most successful acts to come out of Scotland including Unicorn Kid, Bwani Junction and Three Blind Wolves and this year contains a host of brilliant hopefuls such as Discopolis, The John Knox Sex Club, Lady North and Miaoux Miaoux who recently signed to Chemikal Underground Records.

Homework also feature in the Pop Cop's 'Scottish Musician's Cookbook' (which was also published today) with their 'no-nonsense veggie bangers and mash' recipe. Check out the full cookbook here.

Blue Sky Archives will release the single ,Cosplay The Hard Way, on Monday 16 January 2012. Available as a free download, the track is the first taster from their forthcoming Triple A Side. Recorded at Chem 19, produced by Iain Cook (Aereogramme/ The Unwinding Hours) and engineered by Jamie Savage, the three track follow up to their acclaimed second offering,Plural, is scheduled for release on Monday 27 February 2012. 

Blue Sky Archives are pioneering a genre called post-rock pop. Formed in Glasgow in 2010, the five-piece have quickly emerged as one of the most interesting new prospects on the Scottish music scene.

Having released their self-titled debut EP in June 2010, recorded in their home studio with Pete Flett (Dead or American/ Holy Mountain), their 2011 follow up, Plural, marked an explicit artistic development for the band and generated a strong response across a host of respected media.

Rapidly building an impressive live CV, the band have performed across a broad range of key Scottish platforms, including Stag and Dagger and King Tut’s Summer Nights, along with a series of successful London dates and a triumphant appearance at Unifestival in Belgium. To date Blue Sky Archives have shared billing with the likes of Twin Atlantic, The Primitives,Lou Hickey, We Were Promised Jetpacks and Tommy Reilly.

Abagail Grey will release the festive themed, Winter & Icicles, on 5 December 2011. Produced by long term collaborators Chris Geddes (Belle & Sebastian) and Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Teenage Fanclub, Snow Patrol), the two track offering is an immediately absorbing, delicately of-kilter take on the Christmas single.

Homework’s much anticipated follow up to 2009’s Sleepless Nights, All That Glitters, is set to be released on the 21 November 2011. Included in the release are the 2011 singles Why Oh Why and Talk Down, which have received strong support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Scotland and Radio Magnetic. To support the release of their new EP 'The Day I Went Deaf,' Stanley Odd will be touring Scotland throughout October. The band will play a number of shows, including dates in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness Aviemore and Stornoway. The tour will kick-off with the launch party of 'The Day I Went Deaf' which is set to take place at the Liquid Room, Edinburgh on Friday 21st October.
