Angelica Mode is the musical reincarnation of Dunfermline-based producer and songwriter Brian Hughes, who had garnered a decent amount of attention with his previous act, Screamin’ Whisper. Originally hailing from Dublin, he moved to Scotland in his teens and immersed himself in youth music projects and earning his stripes at the PBH Free Fringe in Edinburgh.
In November, Hughes was one of 25 acts across the UK selected for a mentoring programme run by the Ivors Academy, which represents songwriters and composers as well as hosting the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards.
His first single release, Your Love Is All The Rage, has echoes of Marc Bolan and is crying out to be used as theme for a TV programme or film. It establishes Angelica Mode as an act to watch in 2021, when an EP will be coming out on LA-based label Soundx3 Records.
