Following the release of her self-produced debut album unfurl, Glasgow’s Orla Noble is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist emerging as one of Scotland’s most captivating new voices.
Blending folk-inspired storytelling with traditional Scottish influences, the record explores deeply personal themes of identity, pain, love and renewal through intimate, atmospheric songwriting. Highlights include beautiful singles hold me and see me free.
Released earlier this month, alongside a triumphant launch at Edinburgh’s The Caves, unfurl has already earned significant airplay, including Track of the Week on BBC Radio 6 Music with support from Emily Pilbeam and Nick Grimshaw, alongside airplay from Roddy Hart and Len Pennie via BBC Radio Scotland.
Engineered and mixed by Gordon Maclean in Tobermory, Mull, the album sees Noble perform almost every instrument herself, with contributions from UTR favourites Rhona Macfarlane, Hector Shaw as well as Rachel Wilson. She performs live at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival at the end of July and Under Canvas Festival at Eden Court Theatre in Inverness on 1 August. See https://linktr.ee/orlanoble
