Fortunately, The Motion Poets, four students at an Edinburgh Napier University - are the exception that proves the rule.Professing a shared penchant for gig-going, discount beer-drinking and decorating their shared Edinburgh flat with street furniture, they apply their musical abilities to honing well-crafted rock, picking the good bits from the heavy guitars of the seventies, along with eighties grunge, nineties Britpop and noughties indies.Their new single, One Too Many released on Friday, demonstrates they are certainly moving in the right direction. Released on Friday, listen here: http://bit.ly/2TMPUTR The Motion Poets play Edinburgh’s Opium on 17 May and Glasgow’s Broadcast on 23 June.Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run music industry seminar and social night Born To Be Wide visit www.borntobewide.co.uk Under the Radar is in association with Knockengorroch World Ceilidh Festival in the hills, 25-28 May 2017 featuring Max Romeo, RURA, Molotov Jukebox, Mouse Outfit, Mungos Hi Fi and many more Scottish and international acts.
