RECOMMENDED: MEMES

MEMES are cousins John and Paul McLinden whom we actually first featured as our Artist of the Week in Scotland on Sunday way back in 2017, for their first band together, Foggy City Orphan (still absolutely ❤️ Fake News Blues). Fast forward to present day and we loved their visceral post-punk, often with ingenious lyrics that shine a light on the uglier side of human nature, so much that we featured them yet again, but this time as MEMES. They also signed a record deal with Fierce Panda Records and their debut MEMES EP is out on Friday 20 November.

They’ve since performed live sessions for Steve Lamacq’s BBC Introducing show on BBC Radio 6 Music, with additional airplay courtesy of Vic Galloway and Nicola Meighan on BBC Radio Scotland and Charlie Ashcroft and Jim Gellatly via Amazing Radio, in addition they’ve been championed by Tenement TV and played tons of live gigs and showcases.
