Casual Drag FOCUS Wales  Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday, 3 May 2026


The new single from Glasgow trio Casual Drag could be read as a comment on the upcoming Scottish election write Derick Mackinnon and Olaf Furniss read Scotsman.com 

Consisting of Richard Clarke, Dominic MacInnes and Matt Charlton, Casual Drag are the latest signing to the renowned student record label, Electric Honey Records, best-known for helping kickstart the careers of Biffy Clyro, Snow Patrol and Belle and Sebastian

Recorded at Pocket Sounds Studios in Edinburgh and released earlier last week, their catchy, garage-punk single The Talk oozes with attitude and swagger, perfectly timed as the election approaches, it’s a scathing anthem, criticising those hiding sinister intentions behind manipulative words. 

To date, Casual Drag have sold out shows across Scotland and supported IDLES frontman Joe Talbot, Irish artist Meryl Streek and US group Frankie & the Witch Fingers

They’ve also been championed via BBC Introducing, BBC 6 Music, God Is In The TV Zine and their recent singles amassed tens of thousands of streams on Spotify alone. 

The Glasgow trio head out on tour with dates in London, Brighton, Leeds and Manchester plus their biggest hometown show to date at Glasgow’s legendary School of Art on 12 June visit https://casualdrag.com



Join music/tech social enterprise Off Axis at FOCUS Wales on Friday 8 May 2026 at The Wynnstay Hotel as part of the international music and film festival. Showcasing Welsh talent alongside international acts, over 250 emerging artists will perform across 20 stages for 25,000 attendees throughout Wrexham from 7- 9 May, marking the 16th edition of FOCUS Wales.
