Pat Hamilton Off Axis Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday, 10 May 2026

Pat Hamilton’s online popularity is now paving the way for live success write Derick Mackinnon and Olaf Furniss read Scotsman.com

Pat Hamilton laid his musical foundation as a schoolboy, learning saxophone and training with renowned opera singer Paul Keohone at the Royal Conservatoire Scotland. Still in his teens he self-released his debut single Tears Of Heaven in 2024, an infectious offering of guitar, piano and soulful vocal with a distinctly live feel. This notched up over 100,000 plays on Spotify alone and set the tone for the album To Whom It May Concern, which garnered over 1.4m streams, although it is currently offline due to a copyright dispute.

Hamilton’s digital success has been mirrored in the live world, with a slot on the BBC Introducing Stage at TRNSMT in 2025 and a sold-out show at King Tut’s in December.

Drawing on genres as varied as rap, RnB, and Country, he cites influences including Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, and Paulo Nutini, while local collaborators include Archie, Shay O’Dowd and The Vistas’ frontman Prentice Robertson of The Vistas.

Currently supporting Finn Forster on his UK dates, Hamilton plays The Great Escape festival on Friday, which coincides with the release of his latest single, Wherever With Me. Look out for an album and headline tour later in the summer. see https://pathamilton.komi.io/
