The charismatic MC Jam Harvie is one of several emerging artists featured on music and film project Experience, Strength and Broke, write Derick Mackinnon and Olaf Furniss read Scotsman.com
Jam Harvie, aka The Schemehing Mucker, is a high-energy MC and one half of the duo CCTV, known for charismatic delivery, sharp, socially rooted lyricism and humour.
Harvie has performed at festivals including Solfest, Lindisfarne, BDTRH, Govan Music Festival and the Glasgow Annual Hip-Hop Festival, and supported acts like Stereo MCs, ONYX, Huey Morgan, Steg G & The Freestyle Master and The Glasgow Barons.
He’s currently got two songs out via the EP and short film project Experience, Strength And Broke (HomegrownAlwaysBest – Vol.1). Insecure, produced by ProphetSixFour, pairs cinematic, emotionally rich soundscapes with Harvie’s trademark honesty, while Cool Story Bro, produced by emerging beatmaker Jaylee, blends trap, boom-bap and electronic textures.
The project is produced by Donna Boyd, founder of innovative recovery-focused arts organisation Freed Up CIC which pairs established underground voices with emerging talent. TwinCity are twin brother choreographers and creative directors, Tornike and Giorgi Jibladze. Their credits include Dancing With The Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, The Voice, major international brand campaigns and original theatrical works.
