Niamh Corkey has garnered a broad fanbase for her blend of jazz with Scottish and Irish traditional music, with live appearances last month ranging from Celtic Connections to King Tut’s. This is further reflected with a nomination for Rising Star at the Scottish Jazz Awards and a Best Solo Artist gong at Donegal's Ballyshannon Folk Festival.
Raised in Kirkaldy, where she co-wrote her first song in primary 2, she went on to study Artificial Intelligence in Edinburgh and now resides in Glasgow. On 29 March her EP, I’ll Meet You More Than Halfway There, will be released on vinyl, CD as well as digital, and is set to be launched with a headline show at The Glad Café on the same date. Evoking Norah Jones with added fiddles, it has already been championed by Jamie Cullum on BBC Radio 2 and Soweto Kinch on BBC Radio 3.
