It’s shaping up to be a busy year for Glasgow band The Rooks write Derick Mackinnon and Olaf Furniss read Scotsman.com
Glasgow five-piece, The Rooks have achieved a lot in a short period of time. Consisting of school friends Ross Gardiner, Cameron McKie, Matthew McFadyen, Kieran Luddy and Coll McKinnon, they’ve built a fiercely loyal fanbase, helping them emerge as one of the most promising young acts on the scene.
Support slots with UTR favourites such as Dylan John Thomas, Vistas as well as Blossoms, led to them selling out King Tuts in a matter of days, then bringing 2025 to a triumphant close with their biggest headline gig to date - a sold out show at The Glasgow School of Art in December, accompanied by the release of their debut EP Noise & Confusion.
This year will be their busiest yet, they support The Snuts in Wales on 2 May, play Glasgow’s King Tuts on 8 May ahead of their showcase at Brighton’s The Great Escape, A Stone’s Throw Festival on 23 May in North Shields followed by TRNSMT and Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival visit https://www.instagram.com/therooksofficial/
TwinCity are twin brother choreographers and creative directors, Tornike and Giorgi Jibladze. Their credits include Dancing With The Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, The Voice, major international brand campaigns and original theatrical works. In February and March, they visit Scotland as part of South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture’s Future Pathways programme where they’ll offer young people high-level dance classes, workshops and mentoring incorporating creative entrepreneurship and culminating with a final showcase performance https://twincitydancestudio.com/
