When musician and producer Ally Skivington, aka The Unperson, bought a bag of game cassettes for the vintage ZX Spectrum computer, little did he know it would end up inspiring an album. Although ordered for their designs, he was so taken for the description of one called Pulse Warrior, that he asked friends in Glasgow’s electronic music community to each compose a song using it as a brief. The result is Helios City, an eclectic collection of 16 tracks created using vintage analogue synth sounds released on 29 January on fledgeling Glasgow label, In The Event Of Capture, (set up by UTR favourites, We Should Hang Out More). Skivington is currently working on a ‘making of’ video, with remixes and a sequel under consideration.
