VULIN is songwriter Craig MacLeod, who’s debut EP Tethered to Sleep, featured an impressive group of musicians, including Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow), Siobhan Miller and Graeme Smillie (Arab Strap), with mastering by Guy Davies (The Smiths, Mogwai, Frightened Rabbit).
His latest release is Lost Soul, a collaborative EP with Silibil aka Billy Boyd, one half of Dundee rap duo Silibil N’ Brains, whose extraordinary true story (where they pretended to be American, and toured with Eminem), inspired actor James McAvoy’s directorial debut California Schemin’. Based on a memoir by Brains aka Gavin Bain, who appeared at our first Wide Days in 2010, the title track Lost Soul, is built around a monologue from the film’s closing scenes.
The single Arc was released last month to coincide with the film premiere, while the full EP arrives this Friday. VULIN’s debut album Kirk Road is out 31 July followed by a slot at Arbroath Musical Festival on 1 August. See https://www.instagram.com/silibil_billy_boyd/ and https://www.instagram.com/vulinmusic
